FPGA Engineer

Description: We are seeking a FPGA Engineer to join our team in support of projects focused on intelligence, department of defense, and commercial DSP/SIGINT solutions. The main program this person will support is a prime contract to support the US Navy to develop a state of the art digital ground station for in-fill and ex-fill (transport and receive) communications. It has both signal processing and some non-signal processing FPGA applications but the ideal candidate is someone with signal processing experience. Day to Day: Minimal customer interactions, will report to a DSP lead, who is responsible for vetting the algorithm and overall performance of the system. 2 week sprint cycles. Full Product Development life cycle involved in design of new architecture, development, testing, and implementation 60% of the time is VHDL coding (Majority of the day is digital logic design) 20% is meetings for design to group troubleshooting to discussing plans on hit to integrate with other subcontractors 20% hardware troubleshooting, although they are digital logic designers they still work with MircoTCA with DSP running on it. Skills: Fpga, xilinx, signal processing, Altera, C/C++, Python, TS/SCI Top Skills Details: Fpga,xilinx,signal processing Additional Skills & Qualifications: Required Experience: • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field • 2+ Years of experience in FPGA design, development, and implementation; • Proficiency in VHDL on a Xilinx FPGA • Knowledge of FPGA architectures, constraints, and timing closure techniques • Eligible for an Active TS/SCI Clearance Preferred Experience: • Experience with PetaLinux or Yocto • Experience with signal processing applications (if candidate has cellular signal processing experience that would be ideal) • Knowledge of embedded software development, including programming languages C/C++ or Python • Active TS/SCI • Experience leading projects or teams Experience Level: Intermediate Level About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
