We are currently seeking a highly organized and motivated KABS Dispatcher to join our team.

Position Overview:
The KABS Dispatcher is responsible for receiving customer requests for transportation, scheduling rides, dispatching drivers, and ensuring thorough documentation and reporting. This role works closely with KABS personnel, management, Cardinal Services employees, and fiscal staff to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of transportation services.

This position is a safety-sensitive position requiring the scheduling and overall coordination of transit services to ensure the timely and safe transportation of all passengers. Performance of these duties must be conducted in compliance with all applicable DOT, federal, state, local, and system regulations and policies, including U.S. DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer Incoming Calls: Receive customer requests for transportation promptly and courteously.
  • Schedule Rides: Organize and schedule transportation rides based on customer requests and operational needs.
  • Driver Communication: Dispatch communication to drivers via two-way radio to ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers.
  • Provide Schedules/Manifests: Prepare and distribute schedules and manifests to drivers to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Customer and Public Interaction: Communicate with passengers, their families, staff, and external agencies to ensure efficient service and timely transportation.
  • Respond to Radio Traffic: Receive and respond to driver radio communications, providing guidance during emergencies or deviations from normal operations.
  • Monitor Documentation: Review driver reports and documentation for accuracy and thoroughness, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Complete Reports: Prepare and submit required reports and documentation related to daily operations.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Assure the satisfaction of all customers by responding to inquiries and addressing concerns.
  • Assist GM with Office Duties: Support the General Manager with general office responsibilities as needed.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor to ensure the efficient operation of the KABS office.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum of one year of office experience, preferably in a dispatch or customer service role.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and handle stress effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and across various departments.
  • Proficiency with two-way radio systems or willingness to learn.
