JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

Department: Respiratory Therapy 001

Shift Timings: 19:00 - 07:30 Monday to friday (3 Days/12 Hours)

Per Week: 36 Hours

Twelve hour nights. Every third weekend. Some holiday coverage expected. Candidate required to cross cover peds and adults. Critical care experience preferred. Must have 2 years of experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
  • Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Respiratory Therapist experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapist program
  • Active unencumbered Respiratory Therapist Indiana state license
  • One year of Cerner experience
Requirements

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
