Job Description:

Position Overview: The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) is seeking a Senior Application Developer to join our team in Lansing, MI. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and implementing comprehensive information systems and applications, primarily focused on the Accela Civic Platform. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of total IT experience and will work in a hybrid schedule, requiring onsite presence two days a week from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement applications within the Accela Civic Platform, supporting multiple agencies and instances of Accela.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members and agency customers, acting as a Technical Consultant to develop solutions that streamline business processes.
  • Maintain and enhance existing Accela applications to meet the evolving needs of the agency.
  • Support the development of additional applications and web services as required by the client Application Development Section.
  • Perform code reviews, testing, and deployment of changes using Accela's Configuration Manager.
  • Configure and script Accela applications, ensuring compliance with best practices for security roles and FIDS (Field Information Data Systems).
  • Develop reports using Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), along with ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote changes and support data migration efforts.
Mandatory Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience implementing and supporting the Accela Civic Platform (Accela Automation) for Licensing and Case Management.
  • 3-5 years of experience with reporting tools, including Crystal Reports and SSRS.
  • 3-5 years of experience in design, development, code review, and testing within the Accela environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience setting up application security roles and best practices for security roles in Accela.
  • 3-5 years of experience in scripting and configuration within the Accela environment (event, batch, pageflow, expression).
  • 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • 3-5 years of experience promoting changes using Accela's Configuration Manager exports/imports.
  • 1-3 years of experience with SVN and GIT code repositories.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with Accela GIS and Accela Mobile applications.
  • Understanding of Accela payment adapter configurations.
  • Experience with Accela Data Migration Tool.
Working Conditions:
  • This position is located in Lansing, MI, with a hybrid work schedule (onsite two days per week).
  • Candidates must be local or willing to relocate at their own expense. Remote-only options are not available.
  • 1st round interviews will be conducted via MS Teams, with potential in-person interviews for the 2nd round.
