Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: Job Title: Renal Social Worker Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Day Position Highlights: Competitive pay Additional Benefits: tuition reimbursement, free parking Location: Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD Description: Reporting to the Director of Dialysis Social Worker will be responsible for assessing, counseling, referral and supportive services to patients and their families in a manner consistent with professional standards and institutional mission and policies. Responsibilities: Collaborates with physicians, medical professionals and other staff to ensure the quality of care given. Provides care for the adult or geriatric patient (as defined in the unit scope of care). Utilizes knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient’s age to ensure that psychosocial needs of the patient are met. Involves appropriate parties (i.e. patient’s family or guardian, outside agencies) in the psychosocial care of the patient as needed. What you will need: Master’s degree in social work from an accredited university. Current LCSW licensure by the State of Maryland or eligibility for licensure. At least one year post Master’s Degree experience as a social worker in a health care environment, renal experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with all age groups of patients, with an emphasis on adult and geriatric patients.
