Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a highly skilled, knowledgeable, and well-versed professional to join USANA as an executive director of internal audit. In this leadership role, you will hold an integral role in assisting the board of directors and USANA management in accomplishing objectives and assisting in maintaining Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements. In addition, you will design and perform testing procedures on the company's controls over financial reporting and provide services related to cost savings and efficiency for USANA. An ideal candidate in this role is able to showcase confidence in their decision-making ability, hold themselves and others to high standards and principles, and is a respected and approachable leader and mentor.
What You Will Do as USANA's Executive Director of Internal Audit
- Supervise the internal audit department, review work completed by staff, provide feedback and coaching for the development of staff, provide annual reviews of department staff
- Investigate and resolve Whistleblower activity and ethics violations as directed by the audit committee and working with the Chief Legal Officer
- Review all SEC filings, prior to issuance, on behalf of the audit committee
- Prepare and plan audits of internal control
- Performance of field audits relative to the audit plan(s)
- Assistance with the creation of reports to management and the audit committee related to audit findings
- Preparation of recommendations to management for improvement of internal controls and certain areas of efficiency
- Follow-up and review of management's proposed resolution and plan(s) of action for internal audit recommendations and documentation of the ultimate execution of management's resolution(s)
- Maintenance and updating of 'ICEE' (Internal Control Enterprise Evaluator), a prototype database management system created for the internal audit of controls as customized for USANA and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements
- The internal audit staff will perform other duties as follows:
- in the external financial statement audit, thus providing additional cost savings to USANA
- IT auditing as assigned
- Operational focused audits as assigned
- International audits as assigned
- Special audits as assigned
- Work in conjunction with the external auditors to assist them
- Master's degree in accounting or related field
- 6+ years' experience with internal controls and auditing functions
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Current knowledge of accounting rules and the impact of those rules on the Company
- CIA Certificate desired
- CPA preferred
