PURPOSE

To review and prepare applications and supporting documentation in matters related to obtaining California Air Resources Board Executive Orders (CARB E.O.s) and SEMA Certified Emissions (SC-E) for aftermarket automotive & motorcycle products. Also collaborate with the Director and other staff engineers in determining the appropriate path for SC-E and interaction with CARB.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY

  1. Review initial application information with clients to determine appropriate emissions compliance path.
  2. Prepare application documentation for CARB EO or SC-E, including technical drawings, test data, material specifications, calibration tables, etc.
  3. Prepare emissions test plans, when applicable.
  4. Prepare Project Checklists, Quotes, SC-E Test Letters, Test Report Justifications (TRJs) and Certificates of Compliance (COCs).
  5. Create detailed Vehicle Coverage Lists in Excel, including emissions data.
  6. Manage applications throughout the process
  7. Interact with Client & CARB (as needed) throughout the project.
RELATIONSHIPS
  1. Reports to Director of Emissions Compliance
  2. Interfaces with CARB & SEMA Compliance staff
  3. Interfaces with Members
  4. All levels of staff
PRIMARY SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Engineering degree or equivalent work experience in Fluid Dynamics, Mechanical, Calibration or OBD2 required.
  2. Must have technical knowledge of internal combustion engines and related aftermarket performance parts.
  3. Project management skills a plus.
  4. Excellent communication and administrative skills, with a customer service mindset.
  5. Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office, with high proficiency in Excel.
  6. A keen eye for details.
  7. Experience working in a highly collaborative environment with the ability to work autonomously.
  8. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  9. Ability to maintain confidential information about projects and members.
