Essential Job Summary:

As the Learning and Development Specialist, you will contribute to the development, facilitation, and administration of various training programs focused on areas including, but not limited to, compliance and leadership development.

Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Business stakeholders to identify and address learning needs across the Company.

  • Assist on designing, developing, and executing of learning strategies.

  • Facilitate training delivery at our various locations and/or remotely (via Teams) as needs dictate. This training may be in English or Spanish.

  • Serve as the primary administrative resource for e-learning platforms, Learning Management System or other educational technologies.

  • Partner with external vendors to develop training programs. Manage the vendor relationships for courses, workshops, coaching, etc.

  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate program metrics to determine training effectiveness, adjusting programs as needed.

  • Assist in developing and managing the training budget to ensure cost-effective training solutions.

  • Provide administrative support in registration, reporting on completion of training, organizing/scheduling training, room set-up equipment, preparation, and communication with participants.

  • Support talent management initiatives (employee engagement, employee recognition, performance management) as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field.

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in a training role, preferably in the waste management or similar industry.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to deliver training materials clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to speak English and Spanish.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage several tasks/projects simultaneously.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and familiar with learning management systems (LMS).

  • Knowledge of learning management systems.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Ability to travel to our different facilities.
