Job Summary:
The Production Group Leader is responsible for ensuring a safe, smooth and efficient manufacturing operation within the facility and their designated team.
Pay: $21-$22/hour
Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Must optimize Key Performance Indicators (Minutes/linset, Quality, Scrap, and Safety)
- Must ensure that their production group is meeting or exceeding the designated minutes/lineset requirement.
- Must ensure that their production group is meeting or exceeding the designated quality standards.
- Must ensure that their production group is meeting or exceeding their assigned scrap levels.
- Must ensure that their production group is working efficiently and safely.
- Must be able to prioritize all production activities based on the master schedule. This is achieved by working closely with the Production Scheduler.
- Responsible for work order management and accuracy pertaining to their assigned production group.
- Responsible for training and cross-training team members.
- Leads a manufacturing team or teams and directs their work.
- Must be able to work with other facility Group Leaders and act as a back-up to other production Group Leaders when absent.
- Must work with the Material Group Leader to ensure materials are set-up for their production group on a daily and weekly basis.
- Participates in shift start-up meetings with facility Group Leaders.
- Conducts daily shift start-up meeting with their assigned production team.
- Keeps the Operations Team fully informed of any safety, quality and productivity issues.
- Recommends measures to improve Safety, quality and increase manufacturing productivity.
- Lead member of the facility Safety Committee.
- Ensure that standard operating procedures are current by working with the Quality Team.
- Ensures that all time off requests are managed per production staffing levels and company policy.
- Ensures all policies and procedures are followed
- Oversee and maintain the completion and accuracy of all recorded data, records and reports
- Maintain a clean and uncluttered manufacturing environment
- Facilitates and / or participates in special projects or initiatives as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Company
- Required: High School Degree or GED from an accredited institution.
- Preferred: Associate Degree in logistics, warehousing, material handling, supply chain management or a related field.
- Required: Three years of Supervisory experience in a related field.
- Preferred: Five or more years of Supervisory experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Capable of handling multiple priorities, activities, tasks and projects accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management skills
- Demonstrate an attention to detail in all tasks and duties
- Possess strong project management skills
- Self-starter and highly motivated. Ability to work independently when necessary
- Possess positive and cooperative attitude
- Solid problem-solving methods which lead to effective corrective and preventative measures
- Effective at training and cross training manufacturing personnel in a variety of job assignments
- Ability to delegate, supervise and evaluate the performance of the manufacturing personnel and office staff.
- Possess strong mathematical skills for analyzing manufacturing data and inventory status
- Responsible for plant safety. Goal of zero recordable injuries.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk, hear / listen. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, bend and drive material handling equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is primarily exposed to a wide range of seasonal ambient temperature changes. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but is moderate and at times loud based on specific department activities and utilization of tools or equipment. General production and warehouse environment.
