Job Summary:

The Support Coordinator will assist with all aspects of patient care. This includes coordinating clinic schedules, patient appointments, and follow-up. The Support Coordinator will answer patient phone calls, verify insurance benefits, prepare charts for clinic visits, and prepare charge tickets for clinic visits. They will also coordinate the scheduling of all surgeries and diagnostic testing for patients, which includes sending pre-op packets to patients with surgery instructions, preparing surgery charge tickets, and compiling letters of medical necessity. The Support Coordinator will assist with office clerical duties and must work with any and every physician in the Surgery Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with all aspects of patient care.

• Coordinate clinic schedules, patient appointments, and follow-up.

• Answer patient phone calls, verify insurance benefits, prepare charts for clinic visits, and prepare charge tickets for clinic visits.

• Coordinate scheduling of all surgeries and diagnostic testing for patients, including sending pre-op packets with surgery instructions, preparing surgery charge tickets, and compiling letters of medical necessity.

• Assist the office with clerical duties.

• Assist multidisciplinary team in managing the care of patients through all phases (In-take/Evaluation/Listed) by acting as a liaison between the clinic and referring physicians.

• Assist in managing follow-up care for post-surgical patients by setting up follow-up care appointments.

• Coordinate an organized and efficient case flow of clinic scheduling.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.

• Comfortable with computers and medical terminology.

• In-depth knowledge of all insurance types.
