Description:

Position Purpose:

At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center , our Registered Nurses RN in the Occupational Health Clinic deliver patient care and drive patient flow in the medical clinic.

What you will do:

  • Obtains pertinent history and enters into the medical record, including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems and takes/documents patient vital signs.

  • Collaborates with the receptionist to ensure that patients are seen promptly and efficiently—assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed.

  • Prepares patients for examination and treatments. Ensures patient is given appropriate clothing in preparation for the expected physical exam or minor surgeries. Work requires the ability to multi-task.

  • Triages patient telephone calls for lab results, prescription refills, and other clinical matters based on physician clinical pathways. Maintains and organizes patient files under HIPAA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Education : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.

  • Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Must hold a valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure.

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience in an Acute Inpatient setting is required. POSITION WILL NOT TRAIN .

  • BLS or CPR Certification: Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.

Position Highlights and Benefits :

Full-Time – 40 hours/week - Day Shift.

  • Monday thru Friday, no weekend or holiday commitment.

  • Clinic Hours are 7:00 am thru 4:30 pm.
