EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Completed a Medical Assistant Program OR Certification/Registration as an MA OR 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in lieu of being a Registered MA OR 5+ years of experience as a Nurse Assistant, OR a Certified Nurse Assistant with at least 1 year of experience.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working in a medical facility is preferred.

COMPETENCIES: Team oriented with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of safety precautions and ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet and prepare patients for examination, maintain patient charts, oversee vaccine program, restock exam rooms, handle medical supplies inventory, clean and sterilize equipment, assist with office surgical procedures, perform EKG and Spirometry, report lab results and prescription refills, prepare specimens for testing, obtain precertifications, schedule referrals, and maintain compliance with regulations.
