Job Overview: The Director of Finance, Marvin Operations, is a critical leadership role responsible for guiding a talented finance team that collaborates closely with the operations team. The main objective is to help achieve key strategic, operational, and financial goals effectively.

In this capacity, you will act as the primary finance business partner to the Vice President of Operations. This involves providing timely and insightful financial analysis, serving as a trusted advisor, and contributing to decision-making and strategy development. The Director of Finance will also represent finance on the Window and Door Operations Leadership Team.

Highlights of Your Role:

  • Leadership:
    • Lead a finance team that actively collaborates with operations.
    • Conduct regular 1:1 sessions and performance dialogues for career development.
    • Guide and mentor your team while valuing their input and ideas.
    • Oversee the finance team's creation of practical budgets that align with annual and long-term targets.
  • Ownership:
    • Ensure robust reporting tools and models are in place to support operational goals.
    • Simplify complex models for better usability across teams.
    • Analyze financial trends to mitigate investment risks.
    • Advise the Vice Presidents of Finance and Operations on operational opportunities.
    • Foster alignment across the organization to produce necessary reports and analyses.
  • Accountability:
    • Drive performance improvement by challenging current metrics and aiding in exceeding operational and financial goals.
    • Review and present monthly P&L variances and prepare materials for forecast and operational meetings.
    • Provide insights into cost components and recommend strategies to enhance productivity and encourage efficiency.
    • Manage additional duties and special projects as needed.

Compensation: The salary for this role ranges from $174,000 to $230,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility

  • A proven ability to forge strong relationships across all levels of the operations team and the broader organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking abilities.
  • Experience in supporting operations and leading finance in a lean manufacturing context.
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Experience in developing financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • The capability to engage with various management levels and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with financial software and analysis tools.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to generate innovative solutions.
  • The ability to set and communicate unbiased budget expectations across departments.

Additional Requirements:

  • An MBA or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with substantial experience in lean manufacturing environments.
  • At least 10 years of proven leadership experience or equivalent cross-functional project management.
  • A strong track record of mentoring and guiding teams while fostering organizational collaboration.
