Position Summary:

The Warehouse Manager (WM) oversees product flow through the building. The WM leads personnel responsible for the movement of inventory as it safely, efficiently, and effectively moves through the facility undamaged. The WM resolves issues and is responsible for coordinating and communicating daily workloads. The WM may have a focused role with receiving and inventory management. Overall, you are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and wellbeing of all warehouses related assets and personnel.
Related assets include, but not limited to all product SKUs, forklift equipment, management technology, warehouse buildings, pallet jacks, dumpsters, compactors, and other equipment necessary for the movement, management, and recovery and disposal of warehouse items.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates proper staffing and equipment needs in order to accomplish daily operational objectives in a cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Must be proficient in WMS software.
  • Must have experience with powered and non-powered industrial trucks such as forklifts, power jacks, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, effective, and smoothly operating facility.
  • Ensures compliance with all Company safety rules and procedures.
  • Responds to incidents involving personnel, equipment, or product quickly.
  • Trains, coaches, counsels, and provides performance reviews to warehouse personnel; ensure personnel is cross trained in multiple areas.
  • Ensures that all warehouse equipment and machinery is maintained in a safe and working condition and that employees are properly trained to safely utilize equipment and machinery.
  • Expedite receiving, picking, and shipping of priority product (e.g. The Home Depot Special Order Program).
  • Assists with drivers picking up or dropping off shipments.
  • When approached with a customer service issue involving shipment of product, works to identify and resolve cause of the issue.
  • Communicates with Operations and Supply Chain Leadership on issues impacting warehousing operations, service, and delivery.
  • Troubleshoots problems as they arise.
  • Participates in establishing operational procedures to ensure consistency, accuracy, and peak efficiency.
  • Reviews staffing levels and makes recommendations to HR/Operations Leadership
  • Ensures proper inventory procedures are followed.
  • Assist in cycle counts as necessary to correct any inventory errors.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and presents position related data/reports to leadership as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Knowledge & Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in warehousing/distribution/supply chain required, supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Must possess exceptional leadership skills including an emphasis in warehouse management procedures and best practices, and team facilitation and motivation.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Proficient in MS Office Products.
  • Ability to drive and train personnel to drive forklifts and yard trucks.
Education/Certification(s):
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree in logistics, supply chain management or related is preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Schedule: Generally, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm EST (some flexibility with start and end times based on office location). Evening, and weekend tasks or calls, or work input may be required on occasion due to the nature of the role and subject to business needs.
  • Work Environment: Primarily working indoors in a warehouse environment. Prolonged exposure to seasonal weather conditions may occur.
  • Physical Demands: Walking, lifting, standing. Must be able to lift, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. Work requires sitting, standing, and/or walking for extended periods, moving and examining objects at various heights, and reading for extended periods. Requires frequent bending, stooping, standing, walking, turning, pivoting, and working in varying temperatures depending on the season.
