Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician to join our team at Staffing. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform physical and analytical sampling and testing of finished goods using standard test methodologies.
  • Verify and document HACCP program compliance.
  • Calibrate laboratory equipment, record results, and communicate findings.
  • Conduct chemical titrations on in-house sanitation chemistry.
  • Perform aseptic microbiological sampling of products and environment.
  • Communicate non-conformances or deviations with production and quality management, and place non-conforming products on hold.
  • Comply with and implement all plant GMPs, policies, SSOPs, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with inter-departmental and intra-departmental teams.
  • Exercise critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Report accidents and near-misses immediately.
  • Enter data into our systems and run reports.
  • Perform line pre-operation inspections, cleaning verifications, documentation, release, and communication of results.
  • Train employees on quality subjects and procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory housekeeping and upkeep.
  • Work assigned schedules, cover absences, and arrive on time fully prepared.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a level to facilitate understanding of job terminology.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and/or verbal procedures or instructions.
  • Ability to organize and plan ahead to maximize job efficiency and work safely.
  • Ability to drive excellence in all areas, focusing on effective internal and external customer-supplier relationships.
  • Ability to work in a team, with other departments, and with management.
  • Ability to work all scheduled shifts and report to workstation on time, fully prepared.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience within a laboratory environment.
  • Flavor/Fragrance or food lab experience also preferred.

Working Conditions

Food manufacturing plant, warehouse environment, laboratory environment, GMP/Uniform/Safety toe shoes/Hairnet.

Physical Requirements

Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stoop, carry, reach, stand, grip, push, pull, arm extensions, and perform elevated work. Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time while wearing proper PPE. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance, not on daily or weekly bases. Daily lifting of samples is 10 pounds or less. Ability to work in hot, cold, or wet environments.
