Description

The Data Analytics Manager oversees, directs and manages the Bank's Data Analytics Team. Using internal systems and external metrics to collect, research, and analyze information, the Data Analytics Manager extracts actionable insights, presents findings, develops reports / scorecards, and recommends changes based on data insights and market information to draw conclusions, solve problems, improve business outcomes, and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with all lines of business across the Bank in order to communicate and understand bank-wide strategy, business needs, processes, required data and sources.
  • Manages Data Analysts, coordinates workflow. Motivates and trains staff to the standards and objectives to support data maintenance, retrieval and reporting. Completes periodic performance appraisals with clear and achievable goals, and monitors the employee's progress.
  • Researches, collects, cleans, analyzes and reports on data to find key insights, makes meaningful recommendations, and identifies opportunities. Ensures all relevant data points have been incorporated into reporting in order to conduct a comprehensive analysis.
  • Prepares and presents analytical findings in reports, summaries, dashboards, graphs, charts and maps to provide users with detailed intelligence about the state of the business. Creates graphs, infographics and other methods to visualize data to accompany written interpretation.
  • Draws conclusions from data to describe, predict, and improve business performance and provides insights to senior management and business leaders in support of decision-making efforts.
  • Develops and implements data-driven strategies to improve business processes, increase efficiency, and drive revenue growth.
  • Leverages technology to automate data gathering, modeling, and workflows throughout the organization.
  • Creates actionable dashboards, reports, and visualizations and educates users how to best utilize them. Creates and maintains data sets, views, and functions to be utilized for reports and by others.
  • Analyzes information regarding profit, loss, and income/expenses to budget and prepares presentations incorporating tables, charts on business analytics for each business unit.
  • Creates modeling where applicable to support the development of incentive goals and works with senior leaders to establish these goals for their respective business unit.
  • Manages data required to support multiple incentive programs throughout the Bank, tracking metrics and updating scorecards.
  • Analyzes product trends, consumer demographic information and marketing campaigns to identify and suggest opportunities for product sales and service marketing.
  • Generates monthly, quarterly, annual reports for business units and board reports as requested.
  • Manages relationships with external vendors and partners to access additional data sources or analytical tools as needed.
  • Remains current on industry standards, identifies new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, data quality, analysis, and reporting.

Requirements

Education and and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Applied Mathematics, Data Analytics, or Economics; or its equivalent through substantial specialized education in finance and business.
  • Five or more years of business analyst role preferably in a banking environment.
  • Experience creating dynamic and actionable dashboards with data visualization tools, such as Cognos, Power BI or Tableau.
  • Exceptional Excel skills and superior capabilities in other Microsoft Office programs including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of banking core processing systems, financial data management systems, SQL or as Business Analytics.
  • Previous team management experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of banking procedures, policies, principles, functions, and regulations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
