The Human Resource Generalist and Account Coordinator performs various duties, including overseeing human resource functions and providing day-to-day support for accounting tasks. This role will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, which include supporting hiring, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and supporting company policies and practices. Accounting duties will include payroll, accounts payable, and accounts payable.

Human Resource Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support and leadership of human resource functions at TEA.
  • HR Oversight
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Day-to-day support of employees and management staff.
    • Maintain and secure confidential records and inquiries.
    • Professionally represent the school in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students.
  • Payroll
    • Semi-monthly payroll processing
    • Timesheet processing
    • Payroll transmission
    • Payroll deductions including employee benefits share of cost, garnishments, and taxes.
    • Process manual checks as needed
    • Process 401k and health savings account contributions
    • Year-end reporting
    • Payroll service troubleshooting
  • Employee Benefits
    • Liaison with benefits service providers
    • Knowledge of benefits and dependent eligibility
    • Support staff with the use of benefits
    • Serve as liaison between TEA, employees, and providers
  • Hiring
    • On-boarding of new hires, supporting orientation and employee recognition programs.
    • Job posting and candidate responses.
    • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
    • Off-boarding of employees
  • Training
    • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
    • This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, aptitude exams, and certifications.
Accounts Payable Duties:
  • Support of accounts payable functions.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Ramp, and PayPal bill pay systems for payments and ACH management.
  • Account payable categorization and classification entries.
  • Credit card transaction support.
  • Vendor management, including onboarding, maintenance, oversight of financial transactions, and account reconciliation.
Account Receivable Duties:
  • Support with account receivable transactions.
  • Familiarity with various collections platforms, including Stripe, Square, PayPal, and Blackbaud educational systems.
  • Tuition deposit reconciliation support.
  • Other accounting duties as needed.
General Duties:
  • Comply with applicable state, local, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
  • Four-year college degree preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Human Resources experience is required. HR credentials preferred.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, BambooHR, and benefit management platforms preferred.
  • Working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the Blackbaud education platform is preferred.
  • General knowledge of standard office and bookkeeping practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Experience with processing payroll or relevant experience.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Google Workspace and Excel.
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • A high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Other areas of support include administrative and office duties.
