Position Title: Lead Case Manager (Virginia) Reporting Relationship: Program Director Position Summary The Lead Case Manager is responsible for coordinating case management and safe and timely release services, training new case managers, and supervising the work of other case managers. RESPONSIBILITIES The Lead Case Manager will perform duties including, but not limited to: Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s Mission, Values and Philosophies. Provide supervision, mentoring, case consultation, and support to program staff on a daily basis. Coordination of safe and timely release services in collaboration with NYAP team and ORR designated staff and/or contractors. Travel as needed, to provide and support the provision of services to, and on behalf of, youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements. Complete all required training and documentation in a timely manner. Establish and maintain a strong relationship with assigned foster parents. Support and assist program staff in locating and assessing potential sponsors, gathering their information, and assessing whether the potential sponsor is suitable. Guide and support program staff safety assessment, crisis response, and behavioral stabilization services as required to assure safety and stability for children served. Participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement activities on a monthly/quarterly basis. Actively participate in the regular supervision process. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Doctorate or Master’s in Social Work plus three years’ experience in providing casework services to children and families Doctorate or Master’s in related field with at least four years’ experience in providing casework services to children and families in a child placing agency Bachelor’s in any field plus five years’ experience in providing casework services to children and families Directly supervises case managers, no more than eight at a time Must demonstrate a sincere commitment to the service and advocacy for youth and families A valid professional license as required and acceptable by state or contract regulations. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record. Bilingual English/Spanish fluency Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs. OTHER SKILLS Willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours in the service of foster caregivers, families of origin, and persons served. Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served, foster caregivers, system partners, and internal/external stakeholders. Capacity to remain objective and professional in all areas of job function. Demonstrates tolerance and respect for the ideas and actions of others. Possess a sincere desire and ability to advocate for children facing behavioral health, immigration, educational, legal, development, and socio-economic challenges. The qualified candidate will follow a team concept and support agency goals, colleagues and ORR liaisons.
