Job Description Summary

American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking an ambitious Industrial Engineer to join our world-class team. Job Description

  • Collaborate with diverse teams to resolve most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods.
  • Analyze production data and identify areas for improvement to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
  • Design and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing principles. Provide training and guidance to supervisors and operators as required.
  • Build and update work instructions, process flow charts, and operational guidelines.
  • Conduct time studies and establish labor standards for production operations.
  • Identify and proactively resolve bottlenecks and issues in the production line.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure the highest quality components and materials are used.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Consistent track record of efficiently implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficient in using statistical analysis software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams from various departments.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience as an industrial engineer in a manufacturing facility.
  • 2D AutoCAD software experience.
