About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead process engineering projects and provide critical support in our Cold Form & Finishing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage manufacturing process improvement initiatives, focusing on machining capabilities.
  • Collaborate with global teams to design and implement new processes, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to site-level engineers, enhancing machining technology expertise.
  • Support new product launches, assessing process capability and capacity requirements.
  • Promote best practices for process engineering, driving customer specification compliance.
  • Manage capital expenditures for new equipment, from initiation to deployment across global facilities.
  • Evaluate current production equipment, providing assessments of capacity and capability to management.
  • Contribute to CNC machining redeployment strategies, optimizing tool insert usage and fixture spend.
  • Foster collaboration with plant management to execute customer requirements and growth initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects, supporting local teams and outsourcing as needed.
  • Drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvements to meet company objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field) is required.
  • An advanced Engineering degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive Manufacturing Engineering, specifically in CNC machining and programming.
  • Proficiency in software programs: Project Tools (Microsoft Project Manager, Excel, Smartsheet), CAD design software (Auto CAD, Pro E, Solid works, Catia), Minitab, and SAP.
  • 6 Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred; experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), structured problem solving, and lean manufacturing tools is required.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a disciplined approach (DMAIC, 8D).
  • Effective communication, written and verbal, across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% in the first year.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Italian, or Mandarin is helpful but not required.
