Position Title: Splunk Delivery Engineer

Location: Remote (USA); Must live near a large-market airport for travel needs

Schedule: 9-5 EST; EST/CST preferred

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Salary Range: 110-160K based on experience and certification level

Travel Requirements: 20-40%

The Role:
As a Splunk Delivery Engineer, you will be a Splunk deployment, repair, and adoption expert for Presidio customers. You will be responsible for architecting, deploying and configuring Splunk products on behalf of a robust portfolio of Presidio customers. In addition to hands-on Splunk experience and Splunk certifications, a background in System Administration, Security, Consulting, and enjoyment of technical troubleshooting will prepare you well for this opportunity.

Consistent quality and on-time delivery of all Splunk Engineering solutions are critical to success in this role. You will serve in a customer-facing role delivering Splunk expertise and making additional recommendations for account growth. Demonstrating technical decision-making, disciplined technical execution, and a relentless focus on customer experience are required in this key role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Splunk Technical Capability
    • Deliver Splunk engineering solutions in on-prem and Cloud instances
    • Understand and execute on the promise of Splunk within the customer's environment
    • Become a technical expert in at least one premium application within Splunk such as ITSI, UBA, or ES (Enterprise Security)
  • Delivery Engineering
    • Serve as the Splunk expert on projects exceeding quality delivery standards
    • Become a Trusted Advisor to internal teams and external customers
    • Perform timely documentation for all work completed
  • Evangelist of Presidio Splunk Practice
    • Stay up to date on certifications, product releases, and credentials in the Splunk community including but not limited to Splunk Selling Certification (1&2) and Splunk Architect Certification
    • Communicate throughout the organization and partner organizations to serve as a trusted advisor for all things Splunk & Atlas
    • Demonstrate product capabilities of the Presidio Splunk practice
Position Requirements
  • Splunk Certified Architect required; Certified Admin with ability to test within 60 days will be considered
  • Priority consideration will be given to candidates with Splunk Core Consultant Certification and/or certification in one or more premium applications
  • Experience reviewing or writing SOWs for Splunk deployments
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in IT systems administration on Windows or UNIX platforms (RH Linux, SUSE Linux, HP-UX, Solaris or equivalent.) Must include executing program installation and configuration from the command line
  • Experience with client/server communications privacy using private key infrastructure
  • Scripting expertise using regex (regular expressions) within Splunk
  • 2+ years Splunk Administrator or Architect experience including, but not limited to, Splunk Administration; Splunk Search Processing language; Splunk Reporting and Dashboard Creation
  • Experience in Windows scripting (batch, VBScript, PowerShell) with at least two (2) years experience with these technologies
  • Splunk Data Onboarding: Advanced skills in data ingestion, normalization, and correlation
  • Thorough knowledge of security frameworks and how to implement them within Splunk
  • Experience in systems administration, specifically hardening, using Microsoft Group Policy Objects (GPO)
  • Experience in application load balancing in Splunk or using DNS and Load Balancing Services (such as F5)
  • Knowledge and experience with design, implementation, and support ofone or more of the following:
    • Splunk Enterprise Security
    • Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI)
    • Splunk SOAR (security orchestration and automation solutions)
    • Splunk Observability Cloud
    • Splunk App Development
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience in Computer Science, IT, Analytics, or a related field
