SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control, food safety, and regulatory compliance in our production facility. This position will report to the Quality Supervisor.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • 2nd shift 2:00p-10:30p M-F some weekends as needed
  • Ensure food safety and product quality standards are met.
  • Ensure GMPs, SOPs, and safe work practices are being met.
  • Continuously monitor and perform food safety practices, visual quality standards, HACCP verifications, conformance to specifications, regulatory compliance, and compliance with company policies. Monitor and document conformance to batch sheets, specifications, visual quality standards, and regulatory standards throughout the facility.
  • Follow and understand proper Good Hygiene, Safe Work Practices, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), to aide in providing a safe quality product.
  • Conduct basic food safety/GMP training sessions for new team members where needed.
  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures in the performance of your job functions. Ensure that all Operations team members follow and understand SOPs.
  • Take appropriate corrective actions when a deviation or quality problem occurs.
  • Technicians may be assigned other tasks as deemed necessary by Q.A. management.
  • Monitor Process Control documentation is being filled properly out by production team members, ensuring that Production Supervisors and Leads are performing verification checks by signing off.
  • Must be able to work up to 10-12 hours a day as needed.
  • Ability to work productively with a minimum of supervision.
  • Supports the Pretzilla mission, vision, strategic plan, goals and management decisions; establish department mission and goals.
Requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • A minimum of 1-year Quality Assurance/Control experience in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Familiarity with quality/food safety programs including HACCP, SQF, SSOP, HAZCOM, Integrated Pest Management, GMP, etc. preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This job operates in both a professional office environment as well as plant floor with varying temperatures.
  • While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing in environments with varied temperatures. This position requires frequent pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • This position requires flexibility to support multiple production shifts including weekends and holidays.
