The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) plays a pivotal role in managing the operations of the nursing unit during assigned shifts. This position involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee patient care activities, advocating for the needs of patients and their families.
- Engage with patients and staff to address compliance matters, providing necessary support throughout their treatment journey.
- Supervise nursing staff to promote a safe and efficient working environment, delegating tasks appropriately.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to nursing staff, facilitating the onboarding of new team members.
- Assist in the admission and discharge processes to maintain quality care and streamline patient flow.
- Participate in evaluating the quality of patient care, making adjustments based on performance metrics and feedback.
- Contribute to the facility's engagement initiatives through effective nursing strategies.
- Manage staff scheduling to align with patient care requirements and operational productivity.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring the efficient use of supplies and equipment.
- Fulfill various assigned responsibilities, including staying updated on protocols, pursuing professional development, and participating in committees.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) and a valid registered nurse license.
- Preferred: Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing (PMH-BC).
- Two years of experience as a registered nurse in behavioral health is preferred.
- Previous experience in a leadership role, such as team lead or preceptor, is advantageous.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification is required.
- Training in managing aggressive patient behaviors is necessary within the initial onboarding period.
