Summary/Purpose

Operates manufacturing equipment and participates in the casting of components to produce high quality finished goods that meet or exceed our customer's specification. Performs quality checks using micrometers, dial indicators, etc. and documents readings on ECCS's and Quality failsafe check sheets Takes the lead with PM schedule and ensure they are kept up to date. Troubleshoots machine issues.

Starting Rate: $24.67 per hour (includes Die Cast Premium + Shift Premium)

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.
  • Flexible to work in any area of the operation.
  • Willing and able to work any shift.
  • Must be able to comprehend English and follow direction from JTEKT team leader, supervisor and/or manager.
  • Must perform all instructions as listed in the Job Element.
  • Follow standard work as described in the Job Elements for each operation and produce quality parts.
  • Must produce standard quantities upon completion of training.
  • Inspect all safety equipment prior to production start-up (E-Stops, safety lights, PPE).
  • Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Perform minor preventative machine maintenance such as oiling machines and dies and do all necessary cleaning on equipment and work area.
  • Follow the non-conforming material procedure when it is found and notify the team leader.
  • Project a positive outlook in conversation and conduct.
  • Able to work in a fast paced team environment without direct supervision.
  • Responsible for 5S in their area.
  • May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Mathematical Skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

  • Must complete a blueprint work book.
  • Successful completion of the JTEKT Technician B Certification Program is required.
  • Ability to work overtime is an essential function of the position.
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
