Job Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Job Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)

Guaranteed Hours: Not specified

Experience: Minimum 2 years required; must have 1 prior travel assignment

License: Valid state license required at time of submission; specific licensure requirements apply based on location

Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS

Must-Have: Experience in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and transports

Job Description:

- Assist with intubation and extubation procedures
- Place nasal and oral airways, perform oropharyngeal suctioning
- Care for patients with ARDS, COVID-19, fresh tracheostomies, pneumonia
- Administer medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Lidocaine, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Tobramycin, Xopenex
- Set up aerosol therapy using masks and other devices (hand-held, heated, T-piece, trach collar)
- Utilize equipment such as bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, CPAP, IMV
- Troubleshoot high pressure alarms and assist in weaning patients from mechanical ventilation
- Perform chest physiotherapy and draw arterial blood gases (ABG interpretation)
- Preferred skills: CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, care for respiratory distress syndrome
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
- Rotating weekends and holidays required
- Must have the flu vaccine (no exemptions)

Additional Requirements:

- Must provide two supervisor references
- Complete modules pre-start and potentially during orientation
