Position Purpose:

As a crucial player in the country’s food supply chain, our delivery drivers ensure that customers receive their products at the scheduled time and in excellent condition. You will represent our company, building lasting relationships with our customers while fulfilling your duties.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring timely and accurate responses to questions.
  • Collaborate as a team member within the department and organization to effectively serve the company.
  • Perform safety checks (e.g., pre/post-trip inspections) on the vehicle, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Report any safety issues or required repairs promptly.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight.
  • Conduct count checks of loaded items and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork related to freight accurately and legibly.
  • Move the tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as needed.
  • Follow predetermined route delivery schedules while driving to deliver customer orders.
  • Unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scan products, and report issues as per company policy.
  • Verify delivery with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Collect payments (cash or checks) when required. Secure customer returns in the trailer.
  • Ensure tractors and trailers are locked and all freight is secured.
  • Handle damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary documentation.
  • Maintain a daily record of hours worked in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in the tractor and loading dock areas.
  • At the end of your shift, secure all equipment and finalize necessary paperwork.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
12+ months of commercial driving experience
High school diploma/GED or equivalent
Valid CDL A license
Comply with all State licensing and certification requirements (where applicable)
Must be 21 years of age
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years
Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check
Pass a driving skills road test
Possess a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure a new one
Ability to hand-lift and use equipment, moving product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift (typically 10-90 pounds depending on location).
