Position Overview:

Bland Landscaping is seeking a Business Developer to lead sales and business development efforts for our Landscape Construction / Installation division, specifically targeting Home Developers and Community Developers in North and South Carolina, with the potential to sell in new markets in other states as we grow. This is a full-time position with a competitive benefits package. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated sales professional with a strong network in the home development industry and the ability to manage their time independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:
  • Drive sales of landscape construction and installation services by developing relationships with home builders, community developers, and general contractors.
  • Expand our client base by proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Promote Bland Landscaping as the premier provider of high-quality landscape installation services for new residential and mixed-use communities.
  • Represent the company in industry associations, networking events, and trade shows to generate new leads and establish brand awareness.
Relationship Building & Client Management:
  • Develop long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders in residential and community development projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution, from proposal development to contract fulfillment.
  • Provide ongoing client support to foster repeat business and referrals.
Sales Process & Reporting:
  • Utilize Sales CRM and BOSS LM software to manage leads, sales pipelines, estimates, and proposals.
  • Maintain up-to-date reports on sales activity, revenue forecasts, and market trends for the executive team.
Strategic Growth & Market Expansion:
  • Work with company leadership to identify strategic growth opportunities in new and existing markets.
  • Support company branding initiatives, including socially responsible marketing efforts and community engagement projects.
  • Travel within our service area, including day trips and occasional overnight stays, to support business development efforts.

Required Skills

Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or account managementwithin landscape construction, site development, or residential development.
  • Strong knowledge of the homebuilding and community development industry, including key decision-makers, bidding processes, and project timelines.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with developers, builders, and general contractors.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)and CRM software.
  • Self-motivated, goal-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Horticulture, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
