Duties and Responsibilities:

FACILITY DUTIES- 25%
• Maintenance of Virtual Classrooms & Platform -- troubleshooting all technical issues and keeping core program functions operational
• Responsible for the upkeep of software/hardware needs or updates for themselves and the online instructors
• Maintaining awareness and control of all general teacher/student-facing information & discontinuing usage of documents or links to program information that is out-of-date
• Coordination of online educational platform projects or promotions

LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT DUTIES- 25%
• Creation of a positive working environment of collaboration
• Provide support & troubleshooting for all online students & staff with regard to general issues as well as program policy
• Regular and documented check-ins with online instructors that can be reviewed
• Occasional spot-checking of instructional feedback in virtual classrooms that can be documented and reviewed
• Responsible for instructor-education and enforcement of all policies set forth by administration to measure and document student attendance, assignment-completion, and attainment of goals.
• Maintain & advertise planned virtual office hours -- for both students and teachers
• Lead as an administrator/point-person for important program processes, like student testing & scheduling
• Lead as an administrator/point-person for online-based conflicts or incidents
• Provide input & advice to Director of Adult Education regarding instructor assigned courses & online course offerings

INSTRUCTIONAL DUTIES- 45%
• Responsible for teaching courses (as assigned) using instructional methods geared toward the adult learner. Plan lessons and curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skill level students which prepare students to pass high school equivalency tests and/or enhance basic education skills
• Deliver online instruction & feedback to students-- using a variety of online resources, materials, and techniques with appropriate web-etiquette enforcement.
• Implement procedures and program retention activities to assure attendance.
• Follow all policies set forth by the administration to measure and document student educational gains, attendance, and attainment of goals.
• Uses available technology in classroom instruction
• Monitor student needs to remediate educational deficiencies.
• Responsible for effective classroom management that enhances student learning
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.

OTHER DUTIES- 5%
• Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Adult Education

Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in the field of education, or
• Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience in education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in the field of education and three years' experience in education
• Experience using web-based educational platforms (Google Classroom, Canvas, Blackboard Khan Academy, etc.)
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, and cloud-based applications and tools.
