The Network Engineer is responsible for daily operations in a data center environment. Systems include Unix servers running Solaris and Cisco networking hardware. Plan, design, and deploy networking systems. Work closely with senior engineers in a positive and learning rich environment.

• Responsible for design, deployment, installation, configuration and maintenance of WAN, LAN, WIFI, and perimeter security systems per corporate standards.
• Coordinate and monitor vendor management of physical plant (AC, UPS Systems) and DNS services.
• Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information as well as documenting policies and procedures.
• Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, and scheduling upgrades.
• Regularly review logs to detect network security issues and diagnose potential problems. Escalate as necessary.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of networking systems.
• Cisco, routing and ASA firewalls using the command line
• Strong UNIX working knowledge.

• Candidate must be highly motivated, organized and a self-starter.
• Strong technical foundation and solid analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Education/Work Experience

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• CCNA not required but a plus.

• Experience with IP networking.
• Experience with Unix /Linux/BSD systems.
• Experience with systems and networking hardware.
