Serves as a central contact for communication of schedule changes and other pertinent information regarding the nursing staff. Contacts staff to provide coverage for staff call offs. Fills in on the floor to fill staffing vacancies as needed. Works with payroll to ensure that employees of the nursing department are paid appropriately and timely. Works with DON in an administrative role. Monitors employee hours to minimize overtime. Enters schedules/schedule changes into the payroll system. Works with payroll to manage time entry to ensure proper and timely pay. Works with management to maximize efficiencies in scheduling for the department. Educates current and new staff on scheduling, communication methods and processes. For example, requesting time off, schedule changes, picking up shifts, holiday scheduling, etc. Provides additional support to the hospital as directed. Requirements: Prior experience scheduling/staffing experience required Must be proficient with following technologies: Computer and various software packages Calculator/10-key Telephone and paging systems Copy and Fax Machine Postage machine Policies, procedures, plans, and program manuals Highland Springs is a 72 -bed behavioral hospital located near Cleveland, Ohio .
