Required Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Qualify for appropriate MN Licensure
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office Suite programs including, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working in education services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to interface effectively with other departments, school personnel, other maintenance staff, and business contacts from outside of the District.
  • Ability and desire to work with high school aged students.
  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Effective telephone technique.
  • Excellent computer skills required.
  • Maintains confidentiality, and possesses unquestionable integrity.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
  • Can prioritize multiple tasks, work under stress, meet deadlines and take direction.
  • Can work with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to perform general operations, which require the exercise of judgment, based upon knowledge gained through experience.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and School Board Policies.

ADA Requirement
  • Meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform assigned duties, including lifting twenty (20) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of twenty (20) pounds with assistance.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
  • Graduation progress
    • Monitor students for graduation progress; meet with seniors during senior year to keep them on track. Provide parental notifications
    • Monitor stock and order graduation supplies: gowns, folders, caps, tassels, diplomas.
    • Monitor incompletes, provide resources for completing requirements
    • Track presentations, science fair completion, community service and post-secondary planning.
  • Post-secondary planning
    • Support students with college application and scholarship requests
    • Meet with students grades 9-12 to ensure they are on track for graduation
    • Train advisors and students on Naviance. Keep system up to date.
    • Fill out forms and monitor requirements and grades for PSEO.
    • Coordinate CIS/College Now program.
    • Website updates on college planning information/PSEO
    • Oversee College and Career Readiness program
  • Survey AFSA Alumni to track college and career success
  • Provide support for exchange students
  • Plan and carry out Career Fair and College Fair events
  • Assist with State Testing requirements
  • Assist with student scheduling
  • Other Duties as Assigned
