JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Summary of the Job:
Provide comprehensive and high-quality medical and surgical treatment to patients with conditions affecting the hands, wrists and forearm. The scope of services includes both surgical and non-surgical conditions and may work in the office, clinic or operating room.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Medical Degree from an ACGME accredited school
- Must be licensed by the Louisiana State board of Medical Examiners
- Board Certification in primary specialty of General Surgery or Orthopedic Surgery
- Hand Surgery Board Eligible or Board Certification by the ABMS
- Epic experience a plus
- Practice-based learning and improvement
- Patient care and procedural skills
- Systems-based practice
- Appropriate medical knowledge
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Professionalism
Physical Demands:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 10 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:
Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%) - reaching
Occasionally (1%-33%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping
