The Opportunity
We are seeking an HR Coordinator to join our team. This position is responsible for assisting with performing day-to-day HR and Training-related duties working closely with the Human Resources team in supporting the Human Resources operations. The HR Administrator will also assist with recruiting, onboarding, personnel record maintenance, and various HR projects.
Responsibilities
Support new hire and onboarding process including coordination of required documents and paperwork, welcome gift basket, coordination with IT and shared services, E-Verify, background checks, drug testing, day one orientation and new hire announcements.
• Support external and internal recruitment process, verify that all job openings are posted on applicant tracking system, including coordination of phone interviews with HR Manager and candidates, and on-site interview logistics with hiring manager and candidates
• Provide on-time consistent follow-up with candidates, hiring manager and HR Manager to provide information on the interview process status
• Support college recruiting process and relationships with universities including career fair registration, job postings, coordinating company representation and materials, managing candidate communication and follow-up interviews, etc.
• Assists with processing of terminations and data changes for employee records.
• Respond in a timely manner to all Verification of Employment requests.
• Assist safety department with collecting documentation and scheduling training.
• Assist training manager with training materials, ordering meals, etc. as needed.
Assist with logistics of Summer Intern Program, as needed.
• Support and engagement in the "Culture" of Meriton's portfolio companies.
• Support the HR Team with any other duties as assigned.
• Assists with various research projects and/or other special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Degree in HR or related field preferred
• PHR and/or SHRM-CP a plus
• High level of initiative with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, deal with ambiguity and manage projects
• Ability to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and professionalism
• Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn HR system applications
• HVAC, Construction or related industry a plus
Other Skills/Abilities
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.
Environmental Requirements
Will be required to work in an office environment and possibly, occasionally in the field.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
