Job Overview

The Sleep Education Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Sleep Tech Training Program at Children's Hospital Colorado. The coordinator supports the Sleep Techs and Sleep Tech Assistants in onboarding and training and incorporating evidence-based clinical teaching and learning strategies to provide a safe, population specific learning environment.

Department Name: Sleep Study, rotating between Anschutz, Uptown, South, and North Campuses
Job Status: Full-Time; Eligible for benefits
Shift: Monday - Thursday (Monday: 4 hour admin; Tuesday - Thursday: 12 hour overnight shifts)

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Five (5) years of pediatric sleep experience.
  • Certification(s): Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association.

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE

Neonate - 30 days to 1yr

Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs

Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs

School age - >5yrs to 13yrs

Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs

Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Designs, coordinates, facilitates, onboarding and orientation programs for licensed and unlicensed team members.

Evaluates orientation and onboarding experiences for new team members in relation to them operating safely and independently.

Participates in organizing professional development opportunities and partners with Sleep Lab Leadership to mentor team members to advance in sleep tech career ladder.

Mentors, develops, and evaluates preceptors for them to train new hires.

Teaches and guides team members to advance the care of patients, families, and the profession of nursing.

Collaborates and establishers partnerships among departments and various disciplines. Identifies and mitigates deterrents to collaboration. Collaborates with extraprofessional and other stakeholders to align educational programs with organizational goals and strategic plans.

Acts as a resource to staff, department, and safety coaches related to patient safety issues

Coordinates quality improvement standards; regulatory standards; patient safety standards; error prevention tools, methodologies, technologies and resources.

Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of departmental, divisional and organizational goals to include research and the quality improvement or research process to improve patient outcomes.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $72,340.07 to $108,510.10
Hourly Salary Range: $34.78 to $52.17
