The Quality Outcomes Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of Quality Management programs for primarily ambulatory services, but could include some inpatient efforts. These programs include, but are not limited to, Vizient rankings, quality metrics, or other consumer reporting quality submissions. The responsibilities include the collection and reporting of quality data within a meaningful framework to assist the Quality Outcomes Director in driving improvement. Supports organizational standardization through targeted process improvement initiatives, and evaluation of success according to pre-established criteria and measurement tools. The Quality Outcomes Coordinator assists with the maintenance, and goals set forth by the Value Based Metrics, Ambulatory Quality Metrics, Common Goals and other quality reporting. The Quality Outcomes Coordinator also helps identify and coordinate improvement efforts as it relates to our Vizient rankings. The individual in the role promotes quality patient care throughout UAB Medicine along with mission and goals of the Quality and Patient Safety Department and UAB Medicine.

Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field, and (three) 3 years of clinical experience.
Attendance of Quality Academy or related certification within 1 year of employment.

LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:

Required: Registered Nurse with an active Alabama license to practice professional nursing

TRAITS & SKILLS: Utilizes critical thinking skills as an independent practitioner. Must be flexible, assertive, persuasive, organized, detail oriented and self-motivated. Must be able to 1) communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, 2) perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure, 3) work efficiently without producing error, 4) maintain dependability, 5) work independently and collaboratively as needed, 6) consistently meet deadlines, and 7) maintain confidentiality.
In addition:

o Knowledge, experience and ability to manage complex information

o Possess strong consumer orientation
o Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
