Performs entry-level administrative support work. Work involves performing a wide range of administrative and office support work for the department. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.Essential Duties:Assists in maintaining confidential information and records. Maintains files, records, and logs, paper and electronic. Enters data into various Human Resources systems.Conducts data audits/updates - Education, Driver's License, Safety Impact, Professional Engineer, Emergency Contact and other systems information, as assigned.Assists in event preparation, including but not limited to: New Employee Orientation, Recruiting, Wellness and other district events as needed.Gains exposure to Human Resources-related issues. (observing conversations presentations; assisting with other tasks as needed.)Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. As necessary, interns working more than one consecutive semester will continue to develop in the following areas:Draft job postings.Independently run reports and learn to review/analyze confidential data.Conduct portions of New Employee Orientation.Assist with due diligence tasks.Develop presentations.Represent TxDOT at recruiting events.Other more advanced special projects or assignments.
