Job Summary Supervisor, Distribution Technology Support is responsible for supervising a team to provide support, maintenance, and development of a suite of technology applications and systems for MPC, including but not limited to, Oracle NMS (Network Management System, aka TCMS), mobile work management (ARMS), job estimating and tracking system (JETS), Kubra outage map and outage communications systems, callout solution (ARCOS), Distribution Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (DSCADA), Energy Management System (EMS), and rugged field technology equipment. This position will also represent MPC on various Southern Company technology initiatives to set strategic direction for the engineering, construction, and operational platforms of Power Delivery across the enterprise. Job Requirements Education: 4-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Experience: Knowledge and experience in Power Delivery system operations Knowledge and experience developing and supporting applications used to operate and maintain the Power Delivery system Knowledge and Skills: Ability to lead a diverse workgroup that provides daily support, maintenance, and development of Power Delivery applications. Provide leadership and oversight on multiple technology projects to ensure successful implementation while supporting the “one team” common application implementation across Southern Company operating companies. Working knowledge of MPC Power Delivery technology portfolio Effectively identifies organizational priorities and clears the deck to allow the team to execute on those Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work effectively with software vendors and experience with software contract terms and conditions Champions a culture that values safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion Ability to lead, provide performance management, and direction to a group of highly technical employees while building bench strength in the organization Ability to work effectively between multiple organizations and vendors to deliver software solutions Other Requirements Frequent overnight travel Be located or willing to relocate to maintain an office at the MPC Operations Center, Gulfport MS Responsibilities Working across Southern Company to set strategic direction for technology platforms within Power Delivery Leading a team of subject matter experts in working with vendors to develop and deploy complex computer applications used to support the safe and reliable operation of the electric system Responsible for a suite of applications including, but not limited to, Oracle NMS (Network Management System, aka TCMS), mobile work management (ARMS), job estimating and tracking system (JETS), Kubra outage map and outage communications systems, callout solution (ARCOS), Distribution Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (DSCADA), and Energy Management System (EMS) Exhibit technical creativity, foresight, and a healthy willingness to challenge the status quo Developing and executing a plan to provide personal and team support to enterprise boulder projects such as ADMS implementation, Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) Partnering with numerous internal organizations to collaborate on initiatives that support technology priorities across SO. Strong partnerships must exist throughout the leadership structure of Power Delivery, MPC, and across the SO enterprise.
