SUMMARY:

As a Civil Engineer you will design, develop and construct a huge range of projects throughout our real estate portfolio, must be

Proficient in platting process, sewage and drain water design, permitting and inspection process along with reviewing city inspections.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Developing detailed designs.
  • Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
  • Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
  • Assess potential risks, materials and costs
  • Preparing and implementing project plans.
  • Researching and providing estimates for projects.
  • Reviewing government regulations and ordinances.
  • Monitoring and optimizing safety procedures, production processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Making recommendations or presenting alternative solutions to problems.
  • Confidently liaising with clients and other professional subcontractors.
  • Project management duties (e.g. managing budgets, resources, and deadlines; acquiring and compiling quotes, etc.).
  • Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc. and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required
  • Prepare and review legal descriptions, metes and bounds and other standard surveying documents
  • Other Duties assigned
Requirements

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:

Must have 1-3 years of experience as a Civil Engineer or Engineer in Training for a reputable organization.

SKILLS:

Must have the following skills and/or abilities:
  • Understands basics of enhanced Auto CAD Civil 3-D Software and knowledge of CAD Standards.
  • Basic knowledge of software programs including Auto CAD Civil 3-D, GIS, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of the principal methods and practices used in planning and zoning
  • Good Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Must have a current Texas driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.

Apprentice Drafter Certification - Preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to perform the following physical activity on a frequent to constant basis:
  • Sit for long periods of time.
  • Lift 10-20 lbs. of files, plans, office supplies, or similar items.
  • Constantly uses fingers and hands when dialing/answering the telephone and operating a computer or other office machinery, such as a copy machine, scanner, and computer printer.
  • Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information through verbal communications in person or detect objects in and around job site over the telephone.
  • Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents; operate a computer or other office machinery; or.
  • Walk short distances on slippery, even, and/or uneven surfaces.
  • Stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, or crawl.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Majority of work is performed in an office atmosphere located inside a building with no hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
  • May require infrequent job site visits involve performing work in outdoor weather conditions with exposure to extreme cold, heat, and noise depending upon project site.
  • May travel locally during the workday.
