At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Storage Administrator, you will provide a stable, well performing storage environment for the customer. You will also provide guidance, analysis, and recommendations on all storage components. This exciting opportunity will support private cloud and virtualized hosting services for an enterprise implementation for the customer. Hosting services are provided through two geodiverse, remotely managed data centers.

HOW A STORAGE A DMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Assist in the design and implementation of storage based solutions on HP and Hitachi technologies, ensuring alignment with customer objectives and industry best practices

  • Configure and tune storage infrastructure (SAN switches, storage arrays, backup/recovery, storage appliances, etc.)

  • Maintain optimal system performance and make capacity change recommendations to enable optimal system performance

  • Maintain and/or enhance storage system tools and processes

  • Monitor system performance and logs

  • Troubleshoot storage infrastructure as it relates to application and performance issues

  • Respond to support requests, projects, and other assigned task

  • Document and maintain storage assets

  • Mentor to junior team membersregardingstorage best practices, continuous learning, and innovation

  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet contract, company, and department goals and objectives

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience or 11 years if no degree

  • Experience in administering Hitachi, NetApp, and/or Pure storage solutions

  • Storage certification preferred

Preferred Technical Skills :

  • Extensive storage administrator experience

  • Demonstrated experience performing storage device performance monitoring and tuning

  • Hands-on experience using Hitachi's Command Suite

  • Knowledge of multiple Hitachi array platforms

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Tuning Manager, Analytics, and Virtualization in a Hitachi storage environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Tuning Manager, Analytics, and Virtualization in a Hitachi storage environment

  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Brocade hardware and software

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of SAN Design and Implementation

  • Network administration experience (related to firewalls, LAN, DNS, etc)

  • Demonstrated experience working with hardware vendors to resolve problems

  • Virtualization support experience (VMwareperferred)

  • Experience with monitoring and managing SAN switches

  • Backup and Restore Experience (NetBackup desired)

Security Clearance Level :

  • Ability to pass government background investigation
