Position Summary
Responsible for administering diagnostic and habilitative/ rehabilitative services to patients referred for services and maintaining records pertinent to such services. Observes, evaluates and documents diagnostic and treatment effects. Consults with supervisor on all pertinent matters for program and professional development (i.e. research projects, expansion of programs, record keeping, policies and procedures, etc.). Will also be involved in team dynamics and participate in interdisciplinary activities when appropriate.
Minimum Requirements
Career Ladder:
Speech Language Pathologist (FR) I:
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology OR Master's degree in Communication Science and Disorders is required.
Current Speech Language Pathology License issued by NCBOESLPA is required.
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology awarded by ASHA is required, or must be obtained Page 3 of 3 within one year of hire.
Progressive and dynamic knowledge of Speech Language Pathology and a willingness to participate in continuing education and training to remain current in the field. Ability to work with other healthcare professionals in a manner that will ensure continued cooperative efforts.
Speech Language Pathologist (FR) III:
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology OR Master's degree in Communication Science and Disorders is required- or higher.
Current Speech Language Pathology License issued by NCBOESLPA is required.
American Speech and Hearing Association Certification
Related Work Experience:
More than 2 years but less than 3 years Clinical experience as SLP I & SLP II
Preferred Requirements
Speech Language Pathologist (FR) I:
Prior experience in a medically based Speech Language Pathology setting
Prior direct patient care experience with medically complex patients
Prior direct patient care experience with trachs/vents and instrumental swallowing evaluation techniques
Prior direct experience with application of evidence based evaluation/treatment techniques and modalities
