Cognizant Technology Solutions is looking for "JAVA Technical Developer @ Raleigh, NC (Onsite)" to join in our team of IT professionals in a permanent role. Responsibilities:

* Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Java applications using Java, J2EE, and EJB technologies.

* Integration: Work with WebSphere application server to deploy, configure, and maintain Java applications.

* Maven & GitLab: Use Maven for build automation and GitLab for source code management, version control, and continuous integration/deployment.

* Database Interaction: Develop and optimize SQL queries using Oracle PL/SQL, ensuring efficient data retrieval, updates, and storage.

* Code Quality & Documentation: Write clean, scalable, and efficient code while following industry best practices and guidelines. Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions.

* Testing & Debugging: Perform unit testing, code reviews, and debugging to ensure software quality and performance.

* Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and address software issues.

  • Support & Maintenance: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing applications, ensuring their stability, scalability, and performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Java (Java 10+), J2EE (Java EE) technologies, EJBs, and related frameworks.
  • WebSphere: Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server, including deployment, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Build & Version Control: Expertise in using Maven for build automation and GitLab for version control, branching, and CI/CD processes.
  • Database Management: Strong experience with Oracle databases, including writing and optimizing complex PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Web Development: Familiarity with web technologies such as JSP, Servlets, RESTful services, and Spring.
  • Tools & Technologies: Comfortable working with tools like Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, and other IDEs.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Spring Framework: Experience with Spring (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, etc.) is a plus.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.

* CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position depends on the experience and other qualifications of the candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
