JOB PURPOSE:

Acts as a shift lead and resource for Patient Transport staff in ensuring that patients are transferred throughout the campus in a safe and timely manner that maximizes patient flow.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Must have one (1) years of experience in a healthcare setting, two (2) years is preferred.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

HeartSaver CPR AED or BLS training required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

None.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinates day to day activities of Patient Transport Team.

2. Maintains safe work environment and culture, promotes excellence in customer care.

3. Deploys patient transporters throughout the facility.

4. Acquires and maintains equipment and supplies.

5. Maintains real-time contact with patient care units and resource service centers to facilitate efficient patient flow through the system.

6. Ensures Central Transport team performs patient transfers utilizing appropriate technique.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in-writing.

Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

Ability to work as a member of a team.

Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications.
