Work Shift: Evening

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Preop and Ambulatory Surgery Unit. Join our dynamic team where you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care for patients in the preoperative area and during recovery following ambulatory procedures. This is a full-time position with evening hours from 1pm to 9:30pm.

Hourly Range: $38.57 - $63.98

  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments and procedures as defined by company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions effectively.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patient needs and responses to care.
  • Utilize sound nursing judgment to manage patient care decisions.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as directed.
  • Engage in patient and family education tailored to the developmental age of patients and type of procedure.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to formulate comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
  • Mentor and guide ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a professional nursing program conferring a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in New York State.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Understanding of quality concepts and principles, with the ability to apply them for departmental and patient care improvement.
