Supervisory Responsibilities
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department to ensure agency expectations are met.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with agency policy.
- Collaborates with leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the agencies human resources compliance and strategy needs.
- Administers or oversees the administration of human resources program including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
- Identifies staffing and recruitment needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred in business management or human resources.
- At least three years of related experience.
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Able to speak clearly and make self understood in face to face interaction, to articulate with extreme accuracy and precision to give directions, and to speak on the phone in a professional and effective manner
- Professional demeanor and appearance required; willing and able to comply with Professional Appearance in the Workplace policy
- Able to concentrate on fine detail with some interruption and to focus attention on tasks for 45-60 minutes at a time on a continuous basis
- Able to handle multiple tasks; a self-starter who is energetic and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Able to remember multiple verbal and written tasks/assignments over several days and occasionally up to several months
- Good character, personal attributes, and mannerisms to be a good adult role model for clients and families and as a professional for staff under supervision
- Must be able to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people
- Proficient knowledge of standard business computer software required, such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases
