The Human Resources Director will plan, lead, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of Human Resources (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the agencies mission and talent strategy.

Supervisory Responsibilities
 
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department to ensure agency expectations are met.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with agency policy.
 Duties/Responsibilities
 
  • Collaborates with leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the agencies human resources compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resources program including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • Identifies staffing and recruitment needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to supervisor. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred in business management or human resources.
  • At least three years of related experience.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Able to speak clearly and make self understood in face to face interaction, to articulate with extreme accuracy and precision to give directions, and to speak on the phone in a professional and effective manner
  • Professional demeanor and appearance required; willing and able to comply with Professional Appearance in the Workplace policy
  • Able to concentrate on fine detail with some interruption and to focus attention on tasks for 45-60 minutes at a time on a continuous basis
  • Able to handle multiple tasks; a self-starter who is energetic and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Able to remember multiple verbal and written tasks/assignments over several days and occasionally up to several months
  • Good character, personal attributes, and mannerisms to be a good adult role model for clients and families and as a professional for staff under supervision
  • Must be able to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people
  • Proficient knowledge of standard business computer software required, such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases
