Role: Behavior Technician
Pay: $19 - $30 hourly (based on experience, education, and willingness to float to multiple sites)


The Behavior Technician delivers person-centered and behavioral support to individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD), mental health diagnoses, and complex medical needs. This role involves direct assistance, supervision, and behavioral management, as well as teaching home and community-based living skills. The Behavior Technician promotes community participation and integration, fostering independence and joy for our clients.

  • Apple Valley
  • Burnsville
  • Brooklyn Park
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with IDD and mental health diagnoses.
  • Implement Positive Support Strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Assist with home and community-based living skills.
  • Promote community integration and participation.
  • Monitor and interpret behavioral trends.
  • Manage crisis situations and daily events with sound judgment and decision-making.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with individuals exhibiting high behaviors (biting, hitting, kicking).
  • At least 2 years experience with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and chronic medical conditions.
  • Proven experience in implementing Positive Support Strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Skilled in de-escalation and restraint techniques.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of person-centered thinking and planning (preferred).
  • Knowledge of vulnerable adult laws, 245D statutes, and state regulations applicable to HCBS.
  • Ability to pass a background check from the MN Department of Human Services.
  • Valid Driver's License, a working vehicle, and a clean driving record.
  • Good attendance and adaptability.
  • Availability to work weekends for full-time status.
