Responsibilities:

  • Database Design and Architecture: Design database and ThoughtSpot platform architecture, including data models, tables, and indexes to meet business requirements with optimized database design.
  • Implementation Management: Manage the implementation of databases, ensuring proper installation, configuration, and integration with other systems.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize database performance by analyzing and fine-tuning configuration, monitoring performance metrics, and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure databases adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements through effective access controls, encryption, and data masking.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot database issues, perform regular maintenance tasks such as backup and recovery and apply patches and upgrades.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and infrastructure teams to address database-related requirements and resolve issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database architecture, configurations, and processes.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Support and oversee report or analysis creation to meet business requirements, leveraging ThoughtSpot platform functionalities to generate insightful analysis.
  • Visualization and Dashboarding: Ensure effective visualization and dashboarding using ThoughtSpot's interface, facilitating decision-making and actionable insights.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in S4 HANA and ensure organization and team continuous learning.
  • Reporting and Solutions: Present progress reports and offer solutions to address feedback or schedule risks.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Relevant certifications in SAP HANA or S4 HANA are preferred but not required.
  • 10+ years of experience with hands-on database concepts, data modeling, and database management systems (SAP HANA and S4 HANA).
  • Proficiency in designing and optimizing database structures, data migration, and integrating S4 HANA with other systems.
  • Knowledge of database security principles, access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements (ITAR/EAR/DFAR).
  • Ability to troubleshoot database issues, perform maintenance tasks, and apply patches and upgrades.
  • Willingness to travel for business requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement outcomes with enterprise-wide qualitative results.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
