Job Title: Assembler III
Location: Lubbock, TX
Pay: $18 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5 AM - 5 PM (potential overtime)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team in Lubbock, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling turbine pumps, performing quality checks, and preparing products for shipment or testing. This position will work with various tools and equipment and may require operating a forklift, with a preference for candidates with certification.

Core Responsibilities
  • Assemble turbine pumps according to specific orders and performance standards.
  • Read and interpret formal orders, bills of materials, assembly drawings, and layouts.
  • Use hand power tools, including drills, table saws, and overhead cranes, to complete assigned tasks.
  • Fabricate and mark wooden crates and skids as needed.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure orders are complete and accurate.
  • Provide weights and dimensions to the export coordinator.
  • Paint pumps using standard and special coatings.
  • Adhere to safety and 5S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) requirements.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required, with 1-2 years of related shop experience preferred.
  • Ability to read complex drawings, diagrams, and bills of materials.
  • Proficiency in shop arithmetic and use of measuring instruments such as scales and calipers.
  • Material handling skills; experience with forklifts and cranes preferred.
  • At least 12 months of experience in assembly, testing, painting, and crating is preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Stand for up to 10 hours per shift, with considerable arm movement, walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Frequently lift medium-weight parts (up to 35 lbs); heavier parts are positioned using a chain hoist.
  • Work in a shop environment with seasonal temperature variations.
  • Exposure to a noisy environment; earplugs are required.
  • Work around electrical components, including leads, motors, and wiring.
  • Standard PPE is mandatory: safety glasses, earplugs, safety shoes with toe and metatarsal guards, gloves, and work uniform.
