The Lead Technician collaborates with Quality Engineers, Production Control, Operations, Process Engineers, Material Planning, Supplier Quality Engineers, and Supplier Industrialization Engineers to contain any quality defects identified in Production or in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Disposition non-conforming material accurately and in a timely manner, including any material transactions. Document and communicate any identified defects on parts
  • Construct and maintain strong relationships with cross functional teams in all locations (onsite and offsite to Factory). Operate in the 'inspect, diagnose and repair' mindset
  • Monitor Supplier corrective action requests, including obtaining & logging updates to open requests. Track and present data trends on defects identified using data applications and systems
  • Leads and drives improvement activity for systemic problems in resourceful and effective ways on a regular basis. Guide IQC team to properly disposition parts in timely manner, driving root cause investigations
  • Represent IQC at production and engineering meetings. Coordinate team coverage if supervisors are absent
  • Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Trains other quality technicians on quality tools and documentation
  • Creates or assists in the creation of poke yoke for the purpose of quality improvement and increasing yield. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions
Requirements
  • Experience with quality and process control in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Experienced in QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred
  • Proficient in interpreting part drawings, as well as familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Working understanding of basic statistical concepts and methods
  • Highly skilled in complex problem solving and root cause analysis techniques
  • Experience in SQL, Python, Minitab/JMP, and Solidworks/Catia is preferred
  • Handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines. Perform detailed daily record keeping and reporting. Excellent technical communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Degree a plus, or equivalent experience

    • Expected Compensation

      • Lead Quality Technician - $33.45 - $40.88/hour
      • Lead Quality Technician - $37.32 - $45.62/hour
      • Lead Quality Technician - $41.64 - $50.90/hour
      , depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
