Assembler - Fiber Optics

Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform a variety of intricate wiring, bonding, on fiber optic cable, connectors, junction boxes and similar equipment under direction of supervisor. Must be able to read and understand schematic wiring diagrams and process sheets. Must be able to use simple electrical instruments to make polarity determinations, measure insulating Resistance, perform dielectric withstanding voltage tests. Must be able to assemble properly and use effectively various molds and plastic injection devices. Must be able to work from detailed instructions on standard assemblies with guidance and supervision. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 1O's and lOO's. Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Carry out detailed written or oral instructions independently. Ability to read blueprints Able to lift 50lbs EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE HS diploma or equivalent Ability to apply common sense in performing job Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to use basic high school math skills 2-4 years cable assembly experience Physical Demands: Good coordination and flexibility in both hands Move and occasionally lift up to 50lbs. or more Good vision including passing color blindness test Work Environment: Factory environment Personal Protective Equipment: Use of safety glasses Use of steel protective shoes or protective shoe covers Training Requirements: ERP and Time clock system Overview Teledyne Ethics and Harassment training Hazardous Communications Quality Systems Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned Teledyne and all of our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
