Long-term Substitute Nurse

The Archer School for Girls is currently seeking a skilled and experienced long-term substitute nurse starting August 5, 2024 through November, 2024. The position involves managing the school health office to support the health and well-being of approximately 500 students in grades 6 – 12. Responsibilities also includes managing student health records and serving on the Safety Committee.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the school health office
- Administer first aid treatment and nursing care to students
- Refer students to outside medical providers if necessary
- Document student Health Office visits using Magnus Health
- Maintain student health and immunization records in Magnus Health
- Manage and administer student medication using Magnus Health
- Create care plans for students requiring medical accommodations, in collaboration with school administration and faculty
- Maintain health office supplies and inventory
- Serve as a resource for faculty and administration around student health and wellness
- Coordinate response to infectious disease outbreaks on campus
- Maintain campus First Aid kits and AEDs
- Coordinate health-related aspects of field trips and overnight trips
- Provide assistance in an emergency health response on campus, including responding when a 911 call has been made
- Conduct Employee TB Risk Assessments
- Self-starter with an ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Documentation and database management skills
- Attention to detail even under pressure
- Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree: preferred in a related field
- Current Healthcare certification (e.g. RN, EMT, Wilderness First Responder, etc.)
- Understanding of school operations and cultural dynamics
- Experience with Magnus Health database a plus
